Projects

Six Aspects

Six Aspects may be the first Same Time Strategy (STS) game melding the accessibility of turn based systems with the taxing nature of real time strategy. This unique feature makes it highly accessible. Leverage the aspects of earth, fire, wind, water, lightning, and ice to re-take your rightful home in a fantasy world. Enjoy the strategic depth as different terrain types won't just shape the backgrounds but the very battles they are fought on!

Play your way! Command 6 squads made up of up to 7 troops to strategically control each stage. Initial release will include 12 stages with plans to build out to 30. Expand your forces with 20 classes by using the unique duplicate system. This system ensures that you will never have to start a character from level 1. More classes are coming soon!

Candlekin Model

The Candlekin Model was contracted by Hex Entertainment LLC for creation to give players the ability to make a 3D printed model that they could have for their desktop. Charles had created three 3D models for Six Aspects in Blender 3D but found that it was to time consuming to get the 20 classes he wanted for the game. He decided to contract out the work, but still enjoys building models in 3D from time to time. The model is available for free download on the website as well and is rigged accept for the fist parts. It would be nice to have the hands rigged some day.

Constantine

Constantine was the first game that was produced by Lancer Games in 2014. It was built in RPG Maker MV and added on some interesting features such as battles that show character sprites on the right and left sides of the screen, and the ability to move diagonally using scripts from outside sources. It was during this project that Charles came up with the idea of a six element system as a gift of God. Each element would have a faction associated with it which would believe that their element was superior to the others, even though they all agree that they come from the same God. It was meant to mirror some of the divisiveness within religion in our own society.

The 2 chapters contained in the game were adapted from Dungeons and Dragons Modules for the 4.0 system. One of those modules is available for download on the website. The original town map for Constantine was derived from a map made for those modules as well. The game only contains 2 chapters and wasn’t very popular and so the developer moved on to the more ambitious Six Aspects product. The game can be completed in about 3 hours and is available for free download on this website.

Charles Zammit BIo

Charles Zammit (pronounced Zuh-meet) has always loved RPGs, simulations, and strategy games. It seemed only natural that he would move into making games that add to the genre. As a single father of four boys, Charles doesn’t have a lot of time to sit down and play the old 50 hour RPGs of his youth. He thought, I have an itch that I want to scratch but the current games that are being made really don’t serve me and the amount of time that I have to play games now. He wasn’t satisfied with the typical sit and wait style mobile games that offer low strategy and focus more on monitization and loot boxes that sell power. That isn’t to say that Charles is complete opponent of micro transactions or blind reveal mechanics, as he has a background in playing high level Magic the Gathering, Hex the Shards of Fate, Hearthstone, and other lesser known card games.

Over the years Charles passion for making games manifested in many different efforts. He ran three different game development clubs at the various locations he lived in. He worked five different conventions by taking time off of work to do the work he was passionate about. He runs a YouTube and Twitch.tv channel, but had to step back from most of that around 2018 to focus on his project and his children.

When Charles isn’t hard at work on video games then you can usually find him watching anime, painting miniatures, running a local D&D game, playing guitar, or out dancing at the local country bar. He’s always felt that it’s important to keep a solid work and life balance.

Charles grew up in Rockford IL, and at the age of 18 he joined the military with the goal of retiring after finishing 20 years of service. He’s always been one to make long term commitments and stick to them. In August of 2020 he will have completed that goal and moved on to new challenges.

Every strength has an inherent weakness and Charles ability to focus and not give up showed up in many failed relationships with his lack of being able to set proper boundaries and understand when to give up. The last major relationship has created the single parent situation that he finds himself in now. He hasn’t given up on connecting to other people in a meaningful way and spent a year working on his social skills to that end.

He had to overcome a lot of adversity throughout his journey and he doesn’t see it slowing down or changing any time soon. There wasn’t a lot of support along the way, and in some cases the exact opposite was true. Through it all he managed to finish his bachelors degree, gain primary custody of his children, and soldier on with his creative work. After his last failure he redoubled his efforts to develop himself and fill in the social gaps that he had been missing for years. The lessons he learned while doing this self development didn’t just help him communicate better with people but also transferred into the skills he needed to finish his first game “Six Aspects” and launch his independent game company Lancer Entertainment LLC.
