Game Update
We now have the ability to launch any script from text and so I created some functions for future use. Some of them will likely get used in other scripts instead of being directly used from chat. Two of the first functions I created had to deal with adjusting alignment for troops slightly. I created one called “charity” that costs 100 gold and raises alignment slightly. The second one I called “dark ritual” which will also cost 100 and reduce alignment a bit more. As an addition it will also increase the attack power for the troops to make it more enticing.
As a general idea I want it to be easier to have evil characters than good ones. It should cost more to be a “good guy” and it shouldn’t necessarily be a good guys come out ahead in the end situation. I’m not sure if this is the correct way to go but it feels reflective of society. I could be wrong.
The next major upgrade will be the ability to launch dialogue as an interrupt right before combat launches. In this way we will be able to do things like boss dialogue to add more character to the game giving the player a little more to hang on to. The player needs to have information to know why they are taking action as well as the lore of the game.
Personal Update
I got to take some time away this weekend with my girlfriend to go to an amusement park. It’s been a long time since I have been on a roller coaster probably 10 years or so. It was a little bit of a wake up call when I think I had a half black out on one of the rides. I suppose roller coasters are more of a young mans game. Still there were quite a few that I really enjoyed.
Advances in roller coasters being so different makes me wonder how I might need to advance the technology for the game too. I like to think that I’m already doing that by making the game faster, changing the way healing works, and the aspect system in general.
